Zoonoses - Animal Diseases That Affect Man

Edited by Dr. D. E. Goodman

Zoonoses

Specific diseases and parasites usually affect animals within the same species.  Relatively few cross over to humans; however when this happens, the outcome can be very serious. These diseases that cross over to humans are called Zoonoses.

This book is comprised of a series of articles describing a variety of zoonotic conditions and their prevention.  The authors write from experience in a very straightforward and practical manner.

This book discusses the most important diseases and parasites of animals that affect human health such as Rabies and Tuberculosis and many others.  It discusses one disease and parasite from each category as an example of the prevention and/or control measures that apply to the entire group.

This is an excellent book for instructors and students at any level, community leaders and health workers and for those visiting new areas for the first time.
