How to Apply
Every year, thousands of people around the world struggle to survive because they don't have the right knowledge, skills and resources to care for their animals. CVM veterinarians live and work alongside these people to encourage them and provide them with not only much needed veterinary expertise, but also the hope that is only found in Christ. As friends and encouragers, CVM veterinarians build lasting relationships with individuals and communities, helping them be transformed through Christ's love.
Are you Ready?
Questions we ask as you consider long-term field ministry with us:
- Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
Christian Veterinary Mission is an interdenominational Christian organization. We seek to share the love of Christ in all that we do. Thus, it is essential that all CVM staff, including those in North America or serving overseas, have a strong commitment to Christ. Can you give a wholehearted acceptance of the doctrines expressed in CVM’s doctrinal statement?
- Are you willing to raise financial support?
All of CVM’s long-term positions require people to raise 100% of their own personal financial support to cover salary, benefits, living expenses, etc. Sources for support might include the veterinarian's church, family, friends, and colleagues. Through the support raising process, you develop a network of people who will support you through prayer and encouragement while you serve overseas, and this is a tremendous blessing!
- Are you willing to serve internationally for a minimum of 2-3 years?
Veterinarians are uniquely equipped for long-term missions; their veterinary skills help build lasting, positive relationships in which they can share the Gospel as well as help livestock-based cultures better care for their animals and provide for their families. CVM is committed to building long-lasting, positive relationships in the areas where we work. We are looking for veterinarians who are willing to commit to long-term service for at least 2-3 years, with the possibility of extending beyond that time.
